Looks great!! Very nice work. It is like you are building it for the Indy 500, but a century too late.

They are called Brooklins but probably not spelled that way...

Was just thinking how important the windshield is going to need to be.

IMG_1188.JPG That's one long hood. I really like it anxiously waiting to see the windshield. What color have you chosen to paint it. Thanks for Sharing Frank

The rear tail is done. Now we’ll put the steering column and the radiador in place.

Ak Miller and Ab Jenkins would have approved of your build, " The Brazilian Mormon Meteor ". I am sure you will come up with the proper name for the car when finished. Your project is coming along nicely!

The picture is from the internet.

The Seagrave Special is long and lean,
Big flathead motor is really keen,
For a hot rod it sure is a bruiser,
But man, what a turnpike cruiser ! Still love'n this thread.

  23. The rendering that was done of the long hood really looks cool . . . very nice work! It will be tempting to not make it look too much like something else that has been done (fiberglass stuff) - so I do like the long '32 roadster' type of hood and grille. The area around the windshield and the windshield itself will be key. Maybe think about more work in the cowl area to roll it up into the windshield (I know - hard work) - so that the cowl doesn't just get cut off as it is now. (Just an idea). I'm sure whatever you do will turn out great!

Thanks for the considerations. I’m thinking in use a pair of Brooklands Aero Screens.

  25. That is nice -- I like the upward roll of the cowl, the brass trim that matches the brass of the Aero Screens, etc.. Applying that whole concept to your car would work really well!

    " THE LEVIATHAN "
A sleeping Seagrave V-12, procured down in Brazil
was rescued by a Craftsman, and awakened by his skill

All of the parts were laid out, cleaned, measured and repaired
reassembled with great precision, you could tell this man does care!

Working with just what he had, with help from cool machines
its amazing the skill, the craftsman has, to realize big dreams

Where will the big V-12 Flathead sit, so it can sing its song?
Hey there is a 26 Buick right there, with a frame that's extra long

Revealed by many pictures, of how this build progressed along
you could see the inspiration, of how the Craftsman built it strong

Staying true to original parts, for us it seems demanding
amazing how the brakes are correct, contracting, not expanding!

For us online, around the world, we watch this build take shape
The skills of this Brazilian, are nothing short of great!

Seems no task is daunting, the machine shop makes great parts
The Craftsman always smiles, as this car just warms our hearts!

From a land so far away, in a shop the Craftsman toils
forming metal into shapes that resemble long airfoils

Sleek and clean " THE LEVIATHAN " is long and mighty stout
And when its all completed, it will please the eye no doubt !

This machine the Brazilian builds, is a time machine for sure!
It provides us all with magic, built with pride and a drive that's pure!

So it takes a lot of time, to enjoy a masterpiece, just out of reach
" THE LEVIATHAN " is coming, who knows, next stop is Pebble Beach!

I thought I would give you a bit of a proper poem that this marvelous creation deserves.
Feel free to print it out and tack it up on your shop wall and share it with everybody!
    Sincerely,
    Dennis.

Wow, this is one impressive undertaking. I'm a big fan of the old two seat Indy/grand prix racers and this one fits in with those old posters you see for Grand Prix races.
