I have this light mounted on the deck lid of a barn find 32 Ford hot rod. Trying to ID what it is. The taillights look like late 40s Pontiac, but I can’t find any lights on similar cars that look like this. On my car it was mounted over the license plate bracket, which I don’t have. Anybody out there that knows what this came off of originally?

Could be aftermarket. But you might get some info by removing it and looking for numbers on the base.

I suppose there might be a personal reason you don't want to show pics of the whole car.....but..geez..a 32 3w old time closed drive survivor hotrod still in it's 50s paint.

I have a light similar to that , old license plate light, mine doesn't have any markings on it..I originally was going to mount it on my outside control panel on a old tow truck I had ..never did. 1574248596447~2.jpeg 1574248694140~2.jpeg

Looks like a stern light off an old boat.

  6. GM used similar glass lens in early fifties. Station wagons had something like it.

I recognize that as a Chevy truck housing...not like the mystery one, at all.
