Thank y’all for the opinions, I have been back and forth for months on the decision. I think I am going to take the advice of drive it first and make the decision later.

Chop it. It's already been under the knife a lot.

  3. COOL ROD JAMES! If you feel the need to ask. You probably shouldn't. I have to crawl into mine, and then I have to roll out of it! I like chopped tops. But that's just me. { mine is 6'' } Ron............ 20180111_190426.jpg

    Leave it.
    Looks good now.

You can always chop it later if you dont like it.

Funny, I thought the same when I looked at that pic, except that it needed to be chopped !
You can build it chopped to suit you.
Sitting in other people’s chopped cars doesn’t necessarily mean that they got it right, so is not a great benchmark for such a decision.
    Chop it about 4”...........

Ya know these threads come up over and over again.

There are only three reasons to leave the roof stock,

1: you are a resto weenie peeking in to see what's going on.

2: you are 6'9" tall and won't fit in it to drive it.

3: you don't have the skills to get the chop finished.

Saying they look better stock is paramount to admitting you wear women's underwear!

    I like chopped 5 window coupes. My '32 is a 3" chop.

That said, I really like the looks of yours as it is. I vote no chop, enjoy and drive. If you drive it a year or 2 and are still wanting to chop it you could make it a winter project.

If you have to lower the seat for headroom, you are taking away leg room.

Please don't chop. But, if you really want a different look, try bending the frame at the firewall. That really will get people looking.

Its not a coupe but it is chopped 2".....Im 5'10" and while seated have about 2" of head room....then again it is a soft top. B3FE43C5-A51B-4CBC-8BA4-0409504F1494.jpeg 24CAAF85-4B1F-4113-98C6-A320AA0EEE68.jpeg

  19. You have it looking just right now. I was going to vote no chop since we are deciding for you. But then I saw the photochop of the chopped version. A 2" chop looks perfect, screams hot rod.

Nice car! It looks excellent as it is. I love unchopped coupes but either way you can't go wrong. If you do decide to chop it I would keep it mild.

Leave it. Get it running and driving. Meet some other people with coupes chopped and not chopped. Try them on for size. You can always do it later. And as for resale, you're going to knock out some potential buyers - tall guys.

  24. I agree with @OLSKOOL57 here, I may not give it a mega chop it is a highboy after all but I would drop it enough to take the boxy out of it.

That said its your car and my opinion is just my opinion.

    Smooth ride by the way.
