Look up Whitehead around 1890, many engines that he made were one-offs.
Rare and unusual are two different requests.
Rare: 1962-3 Oldsmobile 215 turbocharged around 250 built out of a total 1500, POS due to the small YH carb.
Unusual /unique : hand built V16 (two inline 8 cylinder blocks with a common crankshaft) Blackhawk engine, one of a kind, built by Miller and Lockhart.

 

Don’t have a pic, but there’s a guy selling a LaSalle straight eight here locally for $100.

Several threads here already...

 

The inline 8 was only used in 34-36 LaS. The Cadillac division acquired the rights from the Oldsmobile division, to design a "new" LaS engine based on the 32 Olds inline 8 basic design. Great engines from personal experience, that's a 34 in my avatar.

 

If we eliminated everyone's duplicate threads from the HAMB there would only be 4 or 5 threads to read. It would make searches a lot easier. The home page would look like this

Not sure if you are referring to a custom, or factory; but the factory Olds Jetfire with the turbo 215 did not use a YH carburetor. They used Rochesters.

What about guitars? I was always taught it was girls, cars, and guitars, and that's how I've tried to live my life. Well, the wife put an end to the girls, I have too many cars, and the peripheral neuropathy has brought an end to my guitar playing (since I was 12 years old!); so, I have a dozen guitars just sitting, and several amps; maybe I should just open a music store? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

 

Guitars would be great.

 

Here's my daily driver. Kind of like 2 straight 8's getting intimate.

Lower one has been hacked/modified.

Boden, since you asked, and I’m very proud of you keeping the flame alive, look up the GMC Twin Six from the mid 1960’s. Very interesting. Tell me some engineers with a little Hot Rodding in them didn’t design that monster!
