Technical dropped tube axle position question

    found the answer on how to set caster on a drop axle with hairpins - answered below - Thanks all!

  2. Needs to be 5 to 7 degrees leaned back.

    What you're describing is caster and the ballpark inclination has already been mentioned.

    But, split wishbones and a tube axle? Generally there's no flex in such a arrangement so there's likely breakage at the weakest link, wherever that may be.

    That's all said without the benefit of pics which are always helpful.

    You are correct - I meant hairpins and not split wishbones (too many projects going on).
