It's still going. Slowed down a little due to unforeseen circumstances. Jimmy is in the process of installing the engine/transmission now. Then he will start on wiring.
BTTT, you can't show us a side project of the caliber of the Ranchero and not get us even more revved up about the build at hand...Hope all is well as can be @Sancho...
Need to see more... I just read the entire thread tonight for the first time...2018 until today... !!! My uncle had one of these '59s ... Frothing to see some updates
How's it going @Sancho...Hope your shop is air conditioned... How's things progressing...no pressure just thinking of my Hamber Pals and the cool things they get up to...
As you guys know Jeff passed in December. That had me down for a while... needless to say this build has slowed dramatically. It WILL happen! I bought out Jeff's half of the Ranchero and I'll be keeping it. It's very sentimental now.
@Sancho my belated condolences to You, Jeff's Family and friends in his passing...I was unaware or missed the mention of the loss here or my mind is getting old...Life is fluid and unpredictable and truly can take a chunk of the heart...it will be a very Spirited Build and Custom...We're here for the Journey, High Fives on to the key turning and the rumble...great to hear from you and thanks for sharing the journey Hamber...
My condolences, Sancho. Keep on keeping on. I'm certain you shall continue with the project when it's the right time. Only you will know when the time is right.
I acquired a '59 Custom 300 2-door this year and found this thread. I grew up traveling I-44 between Oklahoma and Missouri and always saw the signs for Daryl Starbird's museum...could never talk my parents into stopping. This is an inspiring build and I hope you find the will and courage to continue on after the passing of your friend.
