The tail lights almost seem to mimic the tires standing tall and proud....

I like the overall mechanically raw Hot Rod look that seems to highlight function over form but still has great look as well

that's really something. can't wait to see it with paint.

 

Restraint from paint I think may also be a major part of what makes it so Cool.
What color could one paint it and make it still be as interesting as it is now?
Black? ..any other color?...My first thoughts would be dark green,burgundy... or silver kinda like it is, but would that kind of take away from it and let it blend in???
What it could be is sometimes more interesting than the finalization of what it should be to the individual looking

I was fortunate enough to get an up close look at TROG and pictures can only convey part of how amazing this little roadster is. And oh yes it sounds bitchin!

 

Beautiful. The amount of time and simplicity is crazy shit.

I saw his five window at hotrod-a-rama and thought how talented this guy is. He has shown again his attention to detail is over the top. Wished I could see it in person to compare with the earlier builds.

 

Been admiring this man's work for over a decade and this lil meany doesn't disappoint, and I was following on IG when he was there with it. Kool with a capital 'K'. Paint? Absolutely. Color? Has to be silver and leave the raw aluminum hood. Who's with me? Any other color would steal from the car's presence as it is and I think might wash away some of the details that make it so special. My opinion for sure and I know he didn't build it for me. Well, unless I picked the right 6 numbers some night

 

How does @Bass find the time to do quality craftmanship work like this when he to Monkey around at that other shop in Dallas?

Amazing talent , skill and knowledge went into building a cool machine with a job to do . Throw sand filled rooster tails and go fast .

 

There are times when that thing is worth it’s weight in gold.

 

The hand-painted numbers down the sides are not perfect. Which is just one of many details that add up to making the whole car perfect.

That makes sense, doesn't it?

 

How wide is the tubing in the cockpit area, from Right to left side?

 

I think I must have a minor case of OCD because I tend to clock fasteners even when it’s totally unnecessary. I don’t do it on things that need a certain torque rating, but on just about everything else, yes.

It’s got a Schroeder “sprint car” steering box. I made the pitman arm.

 

Just wide enough for the body to slip over it as a unit.

If I were doing it all over again I would make the upper tubes bell out to fit the shape of the body, and unbolt the sides from the rear panel of the body to install it over the frame. Things are tight in the driver’s seat the way it is, but it’s honestly pretty comfortable for a race car the size of a large wheelbarrow.

 

Haha, yeah. Im trying to build at T and I look at it and wonder how its all going to fit.
