Here's a picture of Gene Webbs five Window from the early 80s. And a picture of what it looked like a couple of months ago. When Webb owned it he hauled an original Mullins trailer behind it. Both versions are cool . It was just sold recently and the new owner painted it black. Hard to decide which version I like better.
Love the black the best. Wow look at the clearance at the rear meats. That has to be rubbing while driving.
I'd have a hard time changing up a perfectly good car like that, but you can't go wrong with black, and I don't think that look will ever look outdated.
For my tastes the black has too much tire rake and sits too low on the tires. Looks like an overloaded truck. I like the full hood. The red one is about right for the era it was built in. I like the way it sits on the tires, I would like a bit more rubber rake. While I prefer the red version I would not kick either out of the garage.
That is some creative body work when it went black-Right side is a roadster and the left side is a coupe.
I get the whole black on black on black on black on black etc thing but it doesn't take much creativity. The original is pretty damn cool but may be some false advertising going on there. I see a V8 badge on the caps and headlight bar but ....
I’m not really s fan of the redux. Rear tires seem too large and with front tires being offset more towards the inside gives it a weird look along with the agressive stance, but hey what do I know. Maybe this is the next new trend. Anyways good to see folks pursuing new ideas and concepts. That is what this is all about - isn’t it?
Another for the original build....damn agreeing with HRP??? Seems now days everyone is trying to out sex the other guy.......
