Folks Of Interest Not sure what this is ???

I found this in a box of car parts I won at a Local auction, there were mostly headlight lenses in the lot. Can anyone shed some light on what this may be or if its even from a car. There are no markings on it the larger diameter is 3-5/8" about 2-1/2" tall

 

Looks kinda like a dome light lens. Never seen one like it though

 

Dome light but for something with a tall ceiling, like a bus? Big rig? Small airplane?

 

Or maybe the outer body of a dash compass ?
