Well, Jim @stanlow69 I did not know that. Learned something new today on the HAMB. I bet you have pictures of the car 'before'. Not to hijack the CCR thread, but would you or Mercman care to post them, or send them to me in a PM?
Yeah Jim@stanlow69. Talked to Kim earlier in the week, he and Nanc are planing to make the trip. Thanks Mark for cleaning up my post. Appreciate it. Here’s a shot @ 54delray Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
I know Kim and Nancy but don't ever recall that Merc. Nice car .... But what you've got now is right on, spot on, get it on COOL. It will be appreciated at CCR.
Leaving tomorrow morning with Kurt McCormick in the 1941 Cadillac. Should be a great experience. Went over to his house today to show my grandson his collection and then onto Mann Restorations to check out the 38 Barris Coupe. Also hoping to have my room mate turn up in his 51 Mercury depending on the weather. Driving from Concord NC.
@hudson48 it was nice to meet you, even for a short time. My dad and his friend definitely enjoyed your company under the canopy! Sent from my SM-G955U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well we made it, had a great time. Met a lot of truly nice folks. Made some new friends and the quality of the cars and the people was over the top. Cruised home Sunday morning and got to follow the top car of the show. Jim and Pam Thompson’s beautiful home built Radical Kustom. His 36 is absolutely perfect but they really pored themselves into this build. Well deserved. Followed it for a little over 300 miles and never got tired of looking at it. It’s going to be a long 365days til next CCR. Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
I met Kurt when I brought the Hudson over to USA in 2018. He lives a short distance from my son's in laws in Imperial MO and we made the connection. When I came back in May this year and wanted to go to CCR he offered me a seat in the Caddy. Kurt and his wife Amy are great people.
I think we need to be friends too then. I’m in Albany Creek. I don’t think we’ve met. Got a few cool projects on the go . Kurt’s Caddy was a big inspiration for my 39 Cadillac Custom. ... and turned me from a restorer.... into a blasphemer customiser. It’s yet to be completed but a 39 Packard has fallen in my lap and the goal is to have a pair of finished 39 Customs side by side one day.
I love both projects! I don't know what the plan is, but anything but periscope Caddy tail lights would seem heresy. But being a heretic myself, I'd like to see '49 Buick lights .
Beautiful 54. Always the basic style, brings me back to the Moonglow which is way up there on my list. Thanks for the compliment on my Merc.
