How about welding a ford knuckle from a ford axle?
Then you can use ford spindles, brakes as well as a variety steering arms. Worth it?

Im getting back into my front end project on my 1940 desoto. OldDaddy, I might be emailing you for some help on modifying he steering arms.
Im using a fatman dropped upright, scarebird disk brake conversion and installing airbags.
for airbags Im using the stock lower control arm, just welding a plate to mount the airbag too.

Question here. I have a 1940 Plymouth P10. I’m looking into the dropped uprights from Fatman. The question is what’s the upper trunnion? Fatman called back and asked me what size mine was. I guess there 3 sizes for the 1940 Plymouth. 400,370,310. What exactly am I measuring? Any help would be much appreciated.

I just moved the spring perch from the top to the bottom of the control arm. Lowered car several inches. Just cut the old rivets off and bolt to bottom. Nothing else needed

I had a friend who did this on a 49 Ford. He turn them over, installed them upside down, and switch sides.

I took a hiatus on the project for a couple of years but back on it for the last couple of months. Will be happy to answer any questions
