This was our 6th or 7th race of the season rain took care of some. Temp was hot but we still had a good time. We run on a 11.50 index. View attachment 4352364

Mine wouldn't do a 11.50 down a mineshaft, but it would be fun racing anyway.

    Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing!

I should be at Tulsa for a Slant 6 race 2 November. Not in any HA/GR or SDRA... yet...
Maybe next year for that. ;-)

I'm sure our slant six car will be running in that race. His son is building a new car and will be powered by a slant 6 as well. Maybe we could meet

That didn't sound right, I mean the SDRA slant 6 will be running that race. The other car might be done by then.

Good to see you guys are still going strong. How many cars are showing up at your meets? Can most of the cars run under the index? and wheel race at the finish line?

I'd love to come over and race over there but the bank balance is a few dollars shy. Maybe I can get one of those crowd sharing things going to raise the money.
We've got Casino 1/8th mile in two weeks, Willowbank Nostalgias the weekend after and Gunnedah drags the following weekend. That equates to roughly 2000 miles of towing to race. Good thing I love this shit.
Plus I've got a thousand mile round trip to do this Thursday to shift my daughter and her family to a country town to live.

7 to 8 cars bobw. If all the cars that are being built were finished I think we would have 13

Yes all the cars can run under the index. We qualified number 2 last Saturday with a 11.51 and we were #2:rolleyes:
Come on down love to have ya.

Mr. Mac. I believe one of the cars in SDRA has a Jeep engine in it. Can you tell me a bit about it? Particularly, what transmission it is hooked to and if it can run 10's.

I'm considering building a second car so we can have match races, become famous, have an autograph table and pass out vanity cards. All in good fun, eh?

bobw, there are 3 cars in the SDRA that run Jeep engines. The car I think you are referring to can easily run in the low 10s mega dollars in engine.:D:D All the cars except one(slant 6 car) runs power glides. The slant six car runs a Chry 3 speed. We have all became famous:rolleyes: and have a long autograph table and we pass out a lot of Hero cards so build that second car and please come join us.:p

Thanks for the information, Mr. Mac. I'm supposed to look at a 4.0 liter Jeep engine tomorrow. Got a lot of "stuff" laying around so it shouldn't cost too much to build the car.

Update: I picked up a 4.0 Jeep engine. The good block. Have a line on a 4.2 4 counterweight crank. I should move to Tulsa, too darn cold here.

I don't know anything about the Jeep engines Bob except they run pretty damn good. In a Mopar race at Tulsa last week the 3 cars ran a 11.03 11.10 and 11.78. I may be off a couple of tenths on the times because I'm old and can't remember.:D Come on to Okla Bob lot's of racing here and good racing people and yes it's gotta be warmer than MN

  16. Bob is about three hours straight North of me, and it is cold enough here already.

I posted on the SDRA Facebook group a while back. I am planning on moving to Southern Missouri in a few years. My Father lives about an hour North of Springfield, Missouri. He and I have talked about building a HA/GR for several years. Not having local cars has always been a hang up for me. Moving South would fix that. I think we have settled on building a Falcon Six. Time will tell...

  18. Ozark, MoKan, and Tulsa would probably be my go-tos, with Ozark being my home track. It looks like Lebanon will be where I move to.
