I cannot think of another trip they made on a ship so most likely it is the Bahama Star, where they competed in Nassau events.

Just spotted this 65 FiberFab Corvette body on CR..I would think its probably a rare peice, would be a great body for a High G-Force bent road racer build...its in Oregon $15,000 157309094056890452047013924228.jpeg 15730909587346496638758058472482.jpeg 15730909883005787961155620834194.jpeg 15730910077292039782684777045232.jpeg 1573091044131806138937226139056.jpeg

  6. Could it be the Grand Sport in this movie (the car can be seen at the 1:50 mark approximately)?

And they drove the Grand Sport Corvettes from the dock to the race course.
    Imagine trying that today.

They probably made some great noise that the locals enjoyed. GS 63str.jpg

Jim, The Simeone museum in Philly just had the George Winterstein GS convertible out in the parking lot for demo day. It now sports a L-88, sounded really sweet. But I felt like the youngest one there, lots of wheelchairs, walkers and oxygen bottles.

Doug, who would not want to listen to an L88 with open headers. A number of years ago I was at a car show(Glenmoor Gathering in Ohio) and there was a blue 68 Camaro that was a 427 car (I cannot remember the provenance exactly). The guy won an award and when he started the car up with open headers, it was one of the best sounding cars I have heard. I later asked him some questions about the engine and he told me it was a stock L-88 with a first series cam. Upon returning home I ordered that very cam and lifters and they are sitting on my shelf. Hopefully I will be able to use them one of these days as the sound was magical IMO.

As to the grey beards, we all know that the younger set have little if any interest in the cars we all seem to appreciate. I am attending a car event tonight and the only young people I expect to see are the young ladies in skimpy outfits holding trays of hors doeurves-yummy.

What disappointed me more then the walkers and oxygen was out of about 50 cars in the parking lot only 4 were pre 1970 with no solid axles. I have no problem with skimpy outfits or Or Devores.

I wonder if that rear clip was a grafted on clip from a 56-57 Corvette or is it's just a stock clip without the rocket style tail lights? I think those 53-55 factory tail lights were actually independent units that were attached to the rear clip & hand blended in at the factory. It's interesting looking without them, but I still prefer the original scheme. It's amazing that the 53-55 body style wasn't as popular as the T-bird. It's a beautiful thing.

65pacecar, I could really learn to love that white straight axle.

I agree. I love the 53-55 body style and wouldn’t change a thing. I have never been a big T Bird fan and always thought the Vette looked better.

Lots of new pictures that look good. What is the story on the white 58 with the red top?
