Made about a 250 mile round trip to Quincy for the Tin Dusters show. Lots of nice pre 48 cars there. Now pulling the rear end to see if I can find a noise that developed on the trip..... D

I drove my Falcon from it's summer spot on one side of the garage to it's winter resting spot on the other side of the garage ... does that count?

Yes, drove to a local car show but parked my 40 in the spectator parking lot instead of paying $35.00 to park in the show. Im cheap. Exterminator

Sunday was a beautiful day for this time of year. The wife and I jumped in the coupe to look for fall colors. Colors were pretty spotty this year, some places were really nice, the 2 miles up the road and everything was still green. Then a couple more might see naked trees, then a lot more color. We cruised up north to WI, as far as Dodgeville, then we went over to the Mississippi River, and stopped at Eagle Point in Iowa, and made the trip back to Freeport. Odometer says we went 225 miles and the gas gauge agrees. Over all it was a nice day for a ride.
What a difference a day makes, with the wind and rain we have today, I'm really happy we did the color tour yesterday. Gene

  16. Had a meeting in Tyler, TX on Tuesday. Decided to drive the coupe this time. About a 1,000 mile round trip and 2 full days of solo hot rod therapy. 20191021_092401.jpg 20191021_105230.jpg 20191021_164711.jpg 20191023_110117.jpg

  18. Drove the old beater to met up with a few fellow club members for breakfast this morning, I was surprised to see Steve roll in with his T bucket, he looked like he was half frozen, he had driven 30 miles and the thermometer was hovering around 34 degrees.

I'm glad it was him and not me, sometimes like this morning I don't miss my roadster at all. :D HRP

Haven't driven my '36 Ford 3w in 10-years since I strarted rebuilding it, but I drive BY it several times a week.. It's sitting in a storage unit in Halfway, KY while my new shop is being buiilt. Getting to be a race to see if I get to drive it before I die !

  22. 20191102_140434.jpg Drove to a local car show this morning. Told myself that this was the last time before a major makeover this winter. Already removed everything from that God awful looking box on the back. Adding a polished stainless fuel tank on the rear, building a custom mahogany turtle deck, new steering, new wiring harness, wide white walls on steel wheels etc. Gonna be a busy winter!

Not this past weekend, but the Sunday prior, Took the '50 in my avatar out for a first spin. Didn't get far, carb problems. not to worry, I rebuilt the carb and should be able to go for a real spin. Although disapointed, It was still nice to take the car down the road for its "first drive since '65!" Talk about a long sleep!

I'm pretty much done cruising the coupe for the year. We got a little snow the last few days, and the city decided they needed to dump a pile of salt on the street in front of my house and all the way down the block. Add to that some pretty cold temps, and the coupe is looking pretty good parked in the yard until March or so. Gene

Took the '55 F100 out yesterday and 'warmed it up'...
Bad back for a week now, Wife Joey removed the Edelbrock 600 last Sunday, found pieces of black fuel hose innards...(Calif. gasohol!) so she tore the carb down, blew out all the passages...cleaned and adjusted needles/seats, cleaned out float bowls and replaced both fuel filters, and hose is now all Fuel Injection hose. (best for the buck!)

I set the dwell, and reset timing...starts like it did, one second on the starter and 'Whoom!' Ah...Life is good.
Just replaced engine mounts with Trans-Dapt frame mounts, excellent bracketry from engine block AND the Ford type biscuits have the convex steel covers that the '40 Mercs had. (I chromed mine on my '32 years ago...)

Took it up Applegate Rd., motor mounts solidified it. Loss of traction made it all worth it once again...

Took the 30 Pickup to the Aces CC annual fall poker run on Saturday, and took the 47 coupe to church on Sunday. Enjoyed both drives immensely.
