After the last picture, I have to say that I believe that a fully dressed injected nailhead Buick is the best looking hot rod engine. Period.

Strictly speaking, it's not back since this is a recreation...

I never could get around that 'Anti-Streamlined' windshield and the 'dump-the-driver' stance.

A less-than-artistic fellow in San Jose was building a '17 TT truck body on a Model A passenger car frame, car was 'roughed-in', to be 'kind'...but what an intersection of nonfit shapes!
Rust still abounded, but he installed a dirty wrecking yard Cad mill, a '53. Nothing 'flowed', but 2 years later he had it all cleaned up, nicely painted, but...lines were off, nothing seemed to be compatible.
But the detail was great...Washington blue, pin striped and finished.

The Uncertain-T was a reminder of Tony's 'creation'. Superb detail, on an 'uncertain blueprint'.
That Buick engine was a knockout, I'll give ya that...

pretty cool..... looks nice but I would have never put EFI, one of those lookalike mags (supposed to have a frankenstein mag) or the steering on the wrong side...

  18. It always amazes me the people that have to find fault in everything. The steering wheel is on the wrong side(right side) because it's from another country , New Zealand, a right hand drive county. It looks driveable to me, the EFI makes it easier to tune. As far as the Mag not being the same as the original, who cares. I saw this before it was posted here, and nowhere did it say it was an exact replica. I've always liked this car, and I'm glad someone stepped up and built a replica. No one else did. I'd say it's as usable as my T. I don't plan on driving mine across the county, and I don't think this one was built for that either. I'd drive the wheels off of it around town.

Autorama - World of Wheels - Cavalcade of Customs
    Yesterday at 6:20 AM
SEMA Booth #23337 - Visit the Autorama – World of Wheels – Cavalcade of Customs booth this week and see the US debut of New Zealand natives Martin & Marion Bennett’s “Uncertain T” an homage to Steve Scott’s custom vehicle from the ‘60s.
Bennett was inspired to re-create the vehicle after he put together a model car kit of the original Scott show car. The 1923 Ford Model T features a radically tilted cab wrapped in Candy Tangerine with Gold Flake paint. The custom-built body sits on a 75 x 50 RHS chassis. The engine is a 1963 401 Buick Nailhead with roller rockers, Performance Cam ported heads, Hilborn injection, Holley EFI, Hunts MSD magneto and Moon Dress-up gear. The gearbox is a 727 Torque Flight and the differential is a Winters V8 Quickchange with a 3.70 ratio. Steering is Fiat/Pinto rack and pinion. The suspension includes custom “Schroeder” torsion bars in front and custom inverted leaf springs in back. The front brakes are Wilwood single pot calipers with 12” rotors and the rear are F100 finned drums. “Uncertain T” rides on 16” x 3” Borrani wires with Kenda 3.00 x 16 tires in the front and 16” x 12” custom ET’s with Radir Piecrust 12.00 x 16 tires in the rear. The interior boasts Jaz antique leather seats and Stewart Warner ‘60s-style gauges. #autorama #worldofwheels #sema #semashow #sema2019 #isca

NZ motor vehicle codes permit a LH drive collector car that is imported to remain in the “as built”condition but a newly built hot rod must be RH drive to allow licensing and operation on their roads.

You know how it is. If you don't drive on the same side as everybody else, it's the wrong side.

I always liked it. And all the other "show" cars of that ilk. I think you have to be a certain age. I was born in 1957, so in '65 I was 8. The show rods and weirdo stuff was just so cool! When you're 8 you don't know or care about driving practicality. More's Law. The weirder the better.
