As the title suggests, anyone else getting surprised like this? LIST-4781 stamp on air horn 2535 date code I assume to be 253th of 2005 (Sep 10th?)--or is it 1995...either way non ethanol rubber parts most likely. Other comment is - 1964 Ford 390, unknown history, Edlebrock intake, this 4BBL holley has no choke /plate/spring /linkage , yet starts well even in 32F temps, do I need to add a choke plate, linkage...or can this be made to work in Eastern PA ? Seems like alot of carb for a stock 390, I have a Ford autolite C9LF A from (I think ) a 1969 lincoln, has a choke would I be better off rebuilding/installing that? Thanks for advice and comments...
a 15-25 year old carburetor needing a refresh, wouldn't surprise me. a properly working choke is a good thing.
An 850 cfm double pump is much more than what a mild 390 needs. The 850 were kind of pigs when they were new, I wouldn't use one on anything.
It leaks where? Late model Holleys are famous for failed accelerator pump diaphragms, especially when they sit for a season with alcohol blended fuels. .
A weird post since the title and the commentary don't jive...lol So do you want advice on fixing the current carb or advise on using the stock ford Holley ???
