Converting my 1950 8BA to 12V . I have heard that the starter can be used. I have purchased Powermaster alt.
Question is on stock oil and temp sensors. Can they be used in 12V conversion.
    Thanks

Lots of info over on the Ford Barn on how to do the conversion.

  3. Stock oil and temp sensors are fine with 12V. You'll just need to change the bulb that illuminates the dash.
GAUGES will need either a runtz resistor, or the later Ford style resistor mentioned in numerous threads on this subject across the web.

yes you can use the 6v senders. I have been using them and the 6v starter for years.

    No worry's...

  7. If you are using aftermarket gauges, they are probably 12 volt gauges and they will require a compatible sender. I doubt that the flathead senders will work with those gauges.
