I'm looking for advice on which would be the best intake manifold to run on a small block Chevy. The engine is a stock bore 1965 283 with a forged steel crank, 9:1 compression, 74cc heads, flat tappet hydraulic cam 458 lift 284 duration. This will be going in a 1931 Model A Ford pickup, full fendered, with a THM 350 trans, a 57 Olds diff with 4:00 gears. I plan to drive it on the street but also use it on the track for fun, so I will be hammering on it from time to time. My options for intake manifolds are: Weiand 7502, Edelbrock C3BX, Offenhauser 5693, or just an Edelbrock Performer. Thank you in advance for any and all information, opinions, etc.

looks like he has a c3bx, virtually the same as a c3b. Just run that one

Another vote for the C3/4B/X intake. It’s the best.

  6. Read it twice but don't see a mention of the carburetor. New carb, or new glasses for me?
    Also, torque converter?

  7. BTW, your C/R is about 7.8 to 8.2

    Ah yes...that "best" question again.
With SO many that fit the bill.

4.00 to 1 Olds., Pont. gears..!!??
Either 3.90 or 4.11 would be more like it. Nothing in-between, using normal math anyway.

I've had a Performer and currently have a C3BX on my mild 327. Both are about the same, performance wise. I like the C3BX for its "vintageness".
