Ha Ha! I was on a motorcycle trip to visit my sister in Martinez, CA when PG&E was powering down to keep from setting fires a couple weeks ago. Craziest thing I'd ever heard of, although I guess it made sense too. I filled my motorcycle with gas before the power got shut off just to make sure I could get out of the affected area when I got ready to leave.

Hey guys I've got a nice running 31 cabriolet and was wondering how much pep it would give it if I swap the head to a 5.5 compression one? Worth it or not?

Intake manifold is coming next week!
Looking to do a simple 6v positive ground fuel pump, anyone have any recommendations?

I would recommend Airtex E8902. Six volt pump that can be wired either positive or negative ground and pumps at 2.5-4.5 psi so it can be used without a regulator unless you experience flooding, depending on your carb(s). Can be purchased online direct.

358 degrees, that's hot. I'm thinking your ECU should have shut your engine down by now unless that is an EGT sensor.
    I'd go for a ride

I just bought a 30 Model A coupe but am having an issue with starting. We timed it with a timing wrench but the first attempt must have been wrong as it backfired. The second attempt at timing worked but it was running rough. After though the car seems not to be getting any spark. What are some simple steps to figure out what might be going on? I have some Model A books that I'll be going through to start with the basics.

If your tank is clean you should be okay without an inline filter. All I am using is the pencil filter that fits into the shutoff valve on the bottom of the tank to keep sediment out of the gas line. I have not seen any sediment in my carbs nor had any problems with the pump or regulator. I am using the Holley low pressure regulator on my car even though the pump pressure is advertised to be 2.5-4.5 psi.
