    They don’t necessarily have to be power poles, could be Telegraph.

    Hey I grew up in South Dakota, cow pies and flies are the states major products.:)

    Nothing but street rods.

    Those really old really huge race cars are something. A small boat tailed body and a big long bonnet. I wanna build one. Two big-blocks inline. LOL

    Poles are likely telegraph, but maybe telephones. Telegraph took nearly thirty years to arrive, after 1844. So who knows, maybe they decided to fast track telephone ? But I'd gander that building is a telegraph office, in downtown. Since it's off of the main street. Electricity came in the '30's.

    2nd non contribution to this thread. I'd be a great politician. :)

    If you take a long time exposure moving people and vehicles disappear. One of the oldest photos is of a street in Paris, there are only 2 figures in it, a shoe shine boy and a guy getting a shine. The boy's hands are blurred where he was working the brushes. They are the only ones who stood still long enough to get photographed, the other pedestrians and carriages moved away too fast.
