Sometimes others have connections to past projects and can connect some dot's perhaps...so many incredible builds have come and gone...I understand that life is fast and direction is fluid and ever-changing...

   ...from a thread posted by @Ryan below

    https://www.jalopyjournal.com/?p=22082

The Dick Williams Roadster was born into Hotrod in the early 50's with exceptional details and was decorated accordingly and as for the Artist's Incredible Sketches... @Jeff Norwell posed the question of who the Artist was and I don't believe it was realized...However whomever they were they did real good...and the Build was an Artwork of it's Own and still exists today albeit mildly upgraded here and there as witnessed and discussed in the thread link above...

I'd say yes Verde...the thread link below is actually regarding the auction of the roadster...

    https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/ambr-53.1152807/

The OP @AMBR 53 must be a relative of or current owner and here is the link he posted to the Auction

    https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0819-381069/1927-ford-dick-williams-roadster/

There are some awesome pics at the auction link...;)

UPDATE...See post below...No its not the Same Person...just the same name and Similar Hotrods...

  8. I don't believe the Dick Williams that owned the 53 AMBR 27 is any relation to the Poli-Form Dick Williams.

Thank You Mick, I was reading Mike Atwater's post in the thread and You are correct..That Dick Williams built a similar 27 apparently and you are solidifying that claim that he wasn't the same owner of...He did also asks for clarity and I don't think the OP clarifyed his question...My apologies... @verde742 did you get that update...Stogy got the facts mixed...

That's crazy stuff, two guy's with the same name with similar Hotrods and one was marketing them...

I guess it's a compliment to Dick 1 that Dick 2 liked what you built...You started something Big...

...the Pierson Coupe above was a trendsetter in Hotrod back in the Day when Roadsters were The Ultimate Dry Lakes Choice...It brought new Competition to the Field and delivered the goods and still inspires till today...It went through many iterations over the years and has been restored to I believe the version above...An incredibly Influential Beast of a Hotrod Racer...I am not sure of the Artist who Rendered the vision above but collectively it helped inspire unquestionably the Love of Go Fast Hotrod...

Dick Teague illustration of Bob Rufi's Streamliner...Although it appears to be a Belly Tank it is not...It was Hand Formed with a hopped up 4 Banger...

    PG_Lakes019.jpg

    Quoted text...
"Bob Rufi's streamliner, completed in 1939 with an entirely hand formed body. He made 143.54 MPH with a hopped up 1924 Chevrolet 4 cylinder engine in 1940"...

A crash left him injured but alive and he left the sport forever...
His inspiration of go fast has lived on however

  29. First a colored pencil on board I did for Street Rodder Magazine for a feature they did on my 40 Merc. This was in the June '82 issue.
Second a couple of drawings my good friend the late Dave Bell did for his Henry Hirise And Nate Moddel features he used to do for Street Rodder and Custom Rodder magazines. I really miss that guy.
