Well......I cancelled my room in Aiken and passed on the Sunday 'make-up-day' race! Figgered the race car turn out would be loooooow! Was it? (Maybe Shady Side)

  8. You know I love doing this but I can’t cut a light to save my ass. Gabriel is in 3rd place in the A/G points and his car dropped a valve Friday night. I was just taking advantage of his bad luck haha. With his view on what the car needed suspension wise and clutch base pressure, he made the fastest pass to date in the car.

The car count was down but the track - post rain - was quite the entertainment center

Oh and those Canadians have the best beer

  9. For $10 you can watch the whole race here - that crash screen shot is from the video. Gary is ok - last I heard but that car is wadded up bad. Not sure what happened but to me it looked like the front axle mount broke coming down off a wheelie (?) It was an I beam axle and its still intact but pushed way up in the driver compartment.

Not everyone has a Hemi coozie! I've met a few Canadians in ,my life, they are Fun people. Glad that Gary's OK, that wreck looked pretty nasty. Gabe sure drove it like he Stole it! They had the track so sticky that the girls were having trouble backing everyone up, guess that why it's called "The House of Hook"!

  13. Man the rain didn’t help the rubber on the track any. They worked on it a lot to get it going again.
Thank you sir for not hitting the wall!
Impressive - he drove to the scale and back and then went to the line and gave it hell. A spectator came over later and said “I’ve never seen the Dirty get spanked that hard!”

  14. Looks like the axle mount broke

You are the Man ! Loaning your car so Gabe could earn some points.
I had back surgery one time and had to stay out of the car for a season and had to find a driver.
Had lots of volunteers, but it's tough to tell somebody to go ahead and beat the crap out of your car and don't wreck it. I got lucky and found Allen Pope who was a way better driver than me to wheel my car until I recovered. faded memories.jpg

He had the 2nd gear power wheelie going good! I was about to get on the "Bat Phone" and ring Gene for the power tune for the next round, just came up too quick. Maybe playing with the clutch more will net some more ET.

  17. Very very few people I trust this much.

It was driving through the clutch in 4th so we added some base. I’m gonna pull the trans to put more weight on the fingers because - news flash - I don’t cut holes in bell housings anymore

Tony, I was going to ask what the Crew Chief thought about the new driver. I was on f**b**k earlier and saw one her posts. I hope that she's doing better, Carp.

  25. Believe it or not it was her idea to loan the car to keep Gabe in the points. Not sure she was aware of the difference in driving style hahaha. Her neck is still messed up - took 3 weeks to get in to see the doc - that's next week. thanks for asking.

Hope the docs are able to help her. My Wife had back surgery in July and she's is sure glad she did it even though she's still healing. Later, Carp.

Hope you didn't spoil Gabe driving that Hemi ! Have to see if that Model A gets some Firepower over the Blue Oval.

  29. I'm a slow learner

Haha Jimmy Huff is a little worried that we might squeeze a Hemi in Gabe's '31 .....
