Could some one help me and tell me where the steering box hole is located? My frame has had a repair on the drivers side in front of the firewall and the steering box location had to be repaired. So I’m looking for where the hole is located. Say from the center of the front crossmember back? Thanks
Any chance there is a hole on the right frame rail for the right hand drive vehicles? Charlie Stephens
No we had to repair this piece of the frame and now I need to re drill the holes for the steering box
Are the two front shock absorber holes still there on the left side of the frame ? That would be a more direct inline measurement from the center of the rear one , to the center of the steering box ( 1& 1/4") hole, looks to be about 18 & 1/8"
If you want to measure on a diagonal from the center of the square hole in the front crossmember , where the spring bolt fits into, to inline with the steering box hole center on the top of the left frame rail, it looks to be 29 & 1/4"
It’s 2” down from the top surface of the frame rail and 39 1/8” back from the front edge of the frame horn (measuring my stock 32 rails) Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Or, 7 1/4” forward from the center of the indentation on top of the frame rail at the cowl. (In case you don’t have frame horns) Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
If the frame isnt boxed you should see the weld scar on the inside.Guys finish the outside, but seldom the inside.
There was a post re:1932 Frame Measurements, This diagram with indicators is from that post. This should help.
