I have a 8ba with a intake that doesn’t have the mount boss for the generator stand. And I am using a head mount generator mount. Where do I mount the fan. Do I mount it to the generator mount on the head? Or do I need a crank fan?

Use the stock fan. It should mount off the front of the intake, but you might need a spacer to take up the room the generator used to. You can buy a bolt on yoke for the intake that will replicate the missing boss. I know Weiand made them, and somebody else probably still makes them now.

No. It looks like a big U, where the legs of the U have vertical holes that use the intake manifold mounting bolts to hold it down against the intake. The base of the U is shaped just like an intake's generator boss. Sorry I don't have any pics.

You will need the boss on the front of your intake to run your stock fan. Another option is to run an electric fan that is attached to your radiator.

The fan is not operated from the crank as it is mounted to the intake. It's operated by the belt. Also positioning it to the side with your off set generator will not give you needed cooling for the motor. You will need to operate it from the front of the intake.

I would go with stock fan for the look.

Here are a bunch of pics of my stock fan mount on my 8BA. They are not of the Weiand mount that you are talking about.

Also, in the 1st few pics, you'll see the PCV that I am running in place of the draft tube for better breathing of the motor. It runs from the PCV to the rear of the stock intake vacuum.

Notice the 12v single wire alternator on top of the fan?

    Hope it helps.

I already have the stock fan. I just need that special generator mount.
