Technically not a coupe or sedan, what about an Australian sloper (Fords and GM Australia answer to the later Fisher bodied GM aero bodies 1942 up.) Available 1938-1940.

I like chopped tops, but, man those 40's with the stock look are just plain SMOOOTH.........and a little rake is "it" for stance. I might have to drop the front end on the 52 Vic a scoshy bit........ m

My totally favorite 40 Ford Coupe,,, it was both a custom and a race car
Photo stolen from David Perry, who is one of the best forgotten hot rod photographer in the world, if you don't have or have never paged his book Hot Rod you are missing out,,, it includes artwork by Von Franco....

A 40 Ford coupe to me is one of the best looking cars ever made. Chopping ruins the proportions of an otherwise great looking car.

Bingo Gman. I also never understood the "no-hoods" crowd with these cars as it completely screws the lines of the original car. I don't have or didn't have a 40 but I had a 39 Deluxe 2 door with Pontiac 389 in the late 60's I loved that car. - EM
