Born in '50 and got the '50 F1 that my uncle bought new shortly after I was born. I tried to get it for years and he finally gave it to me a few years ago. It's still a work in progress DSCF1805 (800x600).jpg

Born in '42, bought the spinster next door's '42 Ford business coupe. Owned it a week, sold it for $400.00!
(Also found a 1942 .45 ACP with original mint holster, the Colt was mfd. in October, 1942. Just like me.
Unfortunately, I had a now ex wife that was 'unstable'...so I sold the Colt.)
Hmmm...Colt left the UNstable. Sounds like an old 7Up commercial...

Me too, I've seen a couple of 1944 trucks for sale, never could convince my self that I needed a 1.5 Ton Ford stake bed or a DiamondT tank retriever. I did get a short ride in the DiamondT tank retriever at a truck show in Greeley, CO.

You're re-opening an old wound here that was still healing!!! I had wanted a 51 Chevrolet Bus Coupe since about 1968, when a neighbors friend would occasionally show up with his while visiting. Of course, I was born in 1951 on Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska, and having a car, as old as myself, was an "interesting proposition". When I finally did manage to locate and buy a 51 Bus Coupe, right here on the HAMB by the way, it was then only a couple of years before I lost some interest; too many projects, and something had to go. But, rather than sell it, I offered it to my nephew; we used virtually all my parts, garage, and mostly my $$$ to build him a car. He was 30 at the time, and a little late to start in this hobby. It was still an attempt to get him involved in this hobby, much like I did with the guitar and him. But, it was short lived; he started his own CNC, areospace machining company, bought my mothers home, got married, etc, etc, etc. He just did't have the dedication to be a hot rodder, but he also did't want to return the car to me (???); I wanted to turn it into a Bracket Car, but he just would't let it go. Then, proceed to my buying a somewhat "newer", OT car for the Bracket Car project, and THEN he finally decides to let me have the car back, after I was committed to the other car. I'd already bought enough specific parts for the OT car, and they would't cross over to the 51 Bus Coupe. I did't want to let the 51 go, I had too much invested in it, looked for too long, but the timing was just way off. Something had to go, too many projects, and the 51 Bus Coupe needed the most work, but also offered the greatest return $$$-wise if I sold it, and I've regretted selling it ever since. It's been through two more owners since I sold it, and I've lost track of it; maybe one day I'll find it again. Hopefully. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Funny you asked. I looked long and hard for a 69 Caprice. In my Avatar. My first car I bought. Found it 6 long months after I turned 16. Years later I found out after doing a little research, that it rolled off the assembly line a week after I was born. My birthday was Monday. Still have the car.

I’ve had my 67 Chevelle since I was 16 years old. It was my second car. First was a 40 Ford which I also still have.
