I still love the brake drums. Nice finished product from chunks of steel.

Do you have any pictures of the machine work doing the drums?

I believe that I put some pictures of the machining back in the tread.

I like the way this is turning out. When I had my Seagrave, I occasionally thought that the engine might be impressive in something else, but I couldn't figure out what. I think you nailed it. Anyway, with only 2300 road miles, the truck was way too nice to mess with. Did I mention that it was any easy restoration?

I'm in Seattle helping my son move back from SoCal and saw this photo on the wall of the hotel bar where I'm staying and I though of this build. Seattle photo.jpg

When this build is finished and everything is functional and operating as smooth as I perceive it will, if I had Jay Lenos deep pockets, I would make the arrangements with the Brooklands Musuem in the U.K. And I would pay to have car shipped there to watch this builder drive the car on the historical race track. This car when finished, deserves to have that experience, and the photographic and video opportunities to document that would be amazing!
While not a true race car, I would love to see how fast it could go safely, being powered by that amazing Seagraves V-12.

The Brooklands track no longer exists, just some short deteriorated portions.

My bad, I looked up the Brookland's Museum website, but failed to dig a little deeper to see if the track still existed.

That being said, this amazing automobile when finished, should be taken to what ever cool track there is, there in Brazil, and let it breathe and be at speed!

I would still love to know what the top speed is, that it can be driven at safely ! Its more than obvious that it has the ability to stop with those amazing mechanical brakes.

Montlhery, the French oval that was built in the '20s, would be a great place to stretch its legs.

We are trying to find the correct shape for the torpedo body.
Not a easy task because de complexes curves.

The drums on the external brand brakes tend to drag when they get hot.

Great, great build thread. The only suggestion I have is possibly a white lab coat in that last pose.
