A couple of months back whilst looking for a model A that I could afford one came up on a FB group I had joined ,it was in Sacramento ( I live in Scotland UK ) so after pictures flew across the fibre optics and questions were asked I paid up ! GULP what had I done LOL ,anyway the guy was sound -Tony Licata was his name and he checked out fine ( he thought I was a scammer for a while though !) Yesterday the car turned up .....better than I thought and with a load of items I didnt expect-here it is in all it`s glory ,looks like it has had hot rod work done on it at some point in its life ,if anyone can shed any light on it I would be grateful 20191016_112725.jpg 20191016_112709.jpg

That is a pretty solid looking start. It looks like maybe a previous owner started with some repair work at one time.
What is the master plan? If I may ask as I'd think many of us are curious as to what you plan for it.
I'll have to say that I wish what is supposed to be a 31 Victoria that I have was anywhere near as nice as that to start a project with.

Hi. WOW, that looks extremely nice. Is it running & driving? These are likely the easiest old cars out there to work on if you have problems and parts are easy to find. Keep us posted as you go thru it.
I sold all my model A stuff years ago but I still get weekly emails from Mikes Model A Parts. He runs weekly specials and is just one of many Model A parts sources. Jimmie

Do a build thread when you get around to starting on it. Great looking start and looks like a nice car to cruise in now.

All in the shipping cost was around £1600 (there was vat and duty on the final bill so I am not 100% sure)but this included collection from Tony`s house, storage in USA ,customs paperwork in USA and UK and delivery to my house! ( I am 600 miles from the delivery port)I used a UK based company called Seakargo- no hassles and plenty updates.

Thank you ,I am lucky to live in the area where a lot of the great Scottish battles were too ,as you can maybe see from my pic I am restoring a 200+ year old sea captains cottage who sailed from my village as a whaler and had a base in Nova Scotia also -last weekend I took my friend from California`s wife and her friend on a whistle stop tour of most of the battle sites and castles .If anyone is coming to Scotland I am more than happy to do the same for them-it`s not tourist stuff ,more historical so you would struggle to get a commercial company to do it.

Hi thanks for the interest- my plan is to drop it with a dropped front axle and split wishbones 327 Chevrolet with tripower manifold(bought on here) ,Muncie m21 gearbox and a quick change rear axle on leaf spring and split wishbones-it has 40`s Ford brakes at the moment so these will be re furbished and used ,box the frame with a decent Xmeber in it ,body wise -fully fendered and painted possibly dark green and black with either steel wheels painted or spoked 35 ford.

It had duct tape holding the doors shut and the window mouldings on ,just in case they "fell off" during shipping-the roof is staying stock height

There are a good few A coupes being nailed together on the east coast just now .. I can think of 9 within 40 minutes drive of me, plus a modified, a sedan, and a roadster pickup.. Looking forward to following your progress.. :)

Your description of your vision for the Coupe is spot-on.
Please share a thread with us as you progress.

Your 200+ year old home sounds very interesting, would love to see more of it.

You will love the M-21 and 327" combo!
Best arrangement I ever ran in the '31.
Depending upon your roads & Officers,
3.43, 3.08, are good w/a wide ratio Muncie.

Short update for those watching this , I got it running and would be driving but it has no brakes yet! I did however reverse it into the container yesterday then spent today clearing out nut shells rat skulls and poop ! cut and burnt the seat covers(Donkey Kong blanket !!!) as they had mold and were so bad my resident feral cat wouldn`t climb on them -and she is the nosiest cat ever.

Another update - as it is running well ,I have decided to run it next year as is with the Model A running gear before a complete strip at the end of 2020.I plan on buying an Okie Joe front axle-4"drop standard Model A to get a better stance(may as well look cool even if it is slow) Does anyone forsee any problem I may have doing this? Thanks in advance for any advice
