That's a simple question, but the answers will be more complicated. What engine trans are you planning to install? What sort of wheels and tires do you have in mind? For instance 6" wide, 7" or greater? The answers to the latter will determine the appropriate width, WMS (wheel mounting surface) to WMS. Answer to the former would indicate strength required......etc. More info needed.

    Yep, lots more questions.
    Coupe or sedan?
    Stock inner wheel wells?
    Stock springs/suspension?
    Stock frame?
    Fenders?
    Motor & trans?
    Wheels & tires?
Wheel bolt pattern on the front?
    Drum or disc brakes?

The 1st hot rod I built was a 2 door 35 Dodge sedan. The original frame was rotted away, so I built a 2" x 4" rectangle tube frame, front to rear. Then I added a pair of rear leaf springs. Then I installed an 8 1/4 rear end out of a Duster with the 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern. I had to move the inner wheel wells in 2" per side to clear the tires. Then I had to cut the fender opening so the wide wheels & tires would clear. About 2 years later, the 2nd rear end was an 8 3/4 out of a late 60s B body.
To give you a good recommendation, we need more info. Gene
