The Harrell Engines ‘29 Roadster, it ran a flathead but then Harrell teamed up with Willy Borsch who had a hemi.
Eventually the ‘29 was retired and they built a muffler-moly framed ‘glass T that was the genesis of one of the most famous fuel altereds of all time. Harrell eventually bowed out and Al “Mousie” Marcellus became Willy’s partner.

  17. The retractable hardtop looks like a 1958, the baby Bird looks like a 1956. What years do you see? Can't imagine they were not all new cars so what gives? Poor artist? I like HemiDav am curious who won. Probably had to sell a couple to pay the IRS for income tax on the win.

1 more car I promise, Rex Winter

It also says " or $15,000 cash." At that time I would think anyone would have taken the money.

The date on the ad shows February 1958, with magazine lead times that could have been published a month or two earlier. Production of the Square Birds didn’t start until very late December 1957 so no doubt Ford didn’t give their OK to show the new car that might not have been released yet due to production issues.
