We have done a ton of body work & slowly making progress. It was a drag project but then sat for a long time in my friend's shop. It has a 4" drop axle up front & lowered in back. I still have to wet sand & clear coat but the cab is almost done with the bodywork!
It has a 283, TH400 & rear out of a 78 Camero. It was taken out of a pasture & was in the process of being converted into a drag truck when my friend lost interest (and let it sit several years) & I got it. My goal is to make it a reliable street cruiser. The front has a 4" drop axle, the rear leaf was originally mounted under the axle, but now sits on top which greatly helps the ride quality. Once I get all the mechanical issues under control I plan on adding Vintage Air, fix the cosmetic issues, and have fun. Now that it is street-able my friends & I took It for its first maiden voyage/long cruise to iron out any issues. The accelerator cable decided to cause me drama but nothing two awesome friends couldn't fix!
Now for its first car show this weekend at the Bayou Round Up in Lafayette Louisiana. We got approved to enter so hopefully all goes well & we shall see some Hambers there!
Congrats. I had a Vintage Air in my 59. It was one booger of a tight fit. If you don't have a radio or a newer electric WW motor under the dash, it will be somewhat easier.
