One piece of Winfield speed equipment that a lot of people overlook, but he was involved...

Winfield designed with Kong Jackson on the points cam in the Kong Distributors. A Winfield collaboration!

  5. I bought the S kit, will report back when/if it shows. History of seller does not match selling winfield stuff, but for $27 I gave it a flier. Already 17 SR and 28 S kits sold..... Hope the HAMB vendors are taking notice.....

  6. Showed up today. Looks good. I am wondering if this is someone selling on Ebay for Barry Bowyer, has his name and number on the photocopied paperwork.

I recently purchased a winfield SR-B downdraft carb setup. I’m pretty excited to get it going and put it on my A. I’m missing a choke assembly and clamp. Does anyone have an extra that they would part with?

DC48020D-2B0D-4CA0-8DD4-D23844660996.jpeg I just installed a few Old Winfield parts. SR B carb and intake. Cast iron yellow head. SU1R camshaft.

FYI, I did get a rebuild kit from Barry Bowyer for the SR. I also visited him today. Awesome guy. He recently suffered from a mild stroke and has good and bad days. He has carb kits and is willing to help. Call his cellphone.

  18. Hi mate, as your a fellow Englishman... if you cant find what your looking for here you may want to try a Peugeot exhaust clamp as they look the same. just a thought.

ace looking set up you've got there btw

Thanks, they look similar but are much bigger. I'm looking forward to getting it on my B motor and in my A. Cheers.

I found the intake and carb on eBay. It wasn’t cheap, but it was original and complete.

I’ve taken it apart several times and today I completely disassembled the carb and soaked it in the ultra sonic tank for a couple of hours.
Does anybody know how to test the check valve in the bottom of the bowel is?
Does anybody have any SR specific diagrams and instructions?

FYI- After tearing it apart about a dozen times, I fixed whatever was wrong with it. I have no idea what was the problem, but it’s back to running great.

Bringing this thread back. I recently brought an original, cast Winfield banger head home. I originally thought it was a 6 to 1 compression head due to the yellow color but it’s stamped 6•8 TO 1. Is this just another variant? I can’t find much info on anything but the yellow/low compression head and the red/high compression head. Does anyone have any info on this one?

This whole time I figured that may have been an original marking! Thanks for that info

Here are a couple of photos of my Yellow head. I don't have a good photo of the serial number, but that's how it was determined to be a 6-1 Yellow head. The first photo shows where the nipples on the piston would kiss the head after it warmed up.
