As stated a PCV will take care of venting and you have head bolts, intake bolts, water pump bolts, and even exhaust manifold bolts to mount a fabbed generator mount to. If a 12v system the much smaller newer Delco alternator fits where a generator won't. There is no rule that says one can't drill and tap needed holes in the front of the block or even tig weld something to the intake. 8BA block with 59AB heads picture shows a drilled/tapped hole for the coil mount bracket, a small alternator, and an external point adjustment Chevy distributor. I thought hot rodders were supposed to MAKE parts to solve problems.
This is what you need to do to run the early intake on an 8ba engine. I ran mine underneath the intake. Its out of sight.
While this may work, it's a LOT of "monkey business" that can be avoided by using a proper manifold. They're not that hard to find.

Will try to post pic of what I did.....make a center mount out of 1/4" alum plate and 2" alum angel, then make a mount off to driver side out of flat plate, put an idler on there, done.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation and no ford flathead ever left the factory with one. I was going to say no flathead period but those darn French are just tricky enough to have done so. Good idea? Probably. Have to have one? Nope. Need for ventilation? Certainly. Should you research better and heed the opinion of some pretty smart folks on here? By all means!
