Event Coverage Small town car show -

I'm going to a small town for Depot Days & car show tomorrow in Iva, South Carolina, If your in the area it's a free show and you can't miss it Iva is a small place. HRP

 

I hear Iva is so small they share the town drunk with another town.

 

Actually you have to drive through Starr with a population of 173 to get to Iva which has a population of 1,218. HRP

 

The show is like many small town shows a little bit of everything, there were a lot of off topic cars including a bunch of mopar muscle cars, I took these photo's and tried my best to avoid later models.

Registration was free, there was a ton of door prizes and a few trophies, list I heard there were 212 cars on hand. Here is a sampling. HRP

Had a local show today but really nothing hamb friendly, much less interesting. Mostly nearly new stuff with a mere handful of exceptions. Nothing worth posting, and that's kind of pitiful.

 

Hey Danny...That 32 Chevy made me do a double take

 

Yeah, as big a city as Anderson is it seems the cruise in's ar nothing more that a parade of new cars with a few old times like myself still drivig hot rods. HRP

Kool Danny, You think those towns are small? South of me when I go to Texas (65miles ) I go thru 3 towns with in 25 miles , each has less than 60 pop., but each does have a general store/gas station /post office. Welcome to southern Oklahoma

Small town. Second grade. 8 kids in my class. 4 of them 1rst graders. Dad teaching high school on the second floor.

When I made my way back to the wagon I was met by one of the promoters and he handed me this handsome trophy, all in all a fun day. HRP

 

Quite an economy model!!!

 

There's a sign at the edge of town that says "Welcome to Iva". It says the same thing on the back side of the sign.

The town was so small both city limit signs were on the same post!

 

There is a 4 lane hwy running through the town and the speed limit drops from 55 MPH, to 35 MPH about 3 miles for the city limit's, got to watch your speed going through the town. HRP
