Hot Rods Is there a patricular car that you have always liked but never owned

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Oct 11, 2019.

  1. I have been a car nut since I was a kid and I don't have a clue as to how many cars & trucks I have owned in my lifetime, I bought my first car in 1962 at the age of 12, I've owned my far share of on and off topic cars but is there a on topic car that you like but for some unknown reason you never found yourself in the right set of circumstances to buy that elusive car or truck.

As a teenager I loved the 1955 Chevy's, my uncle had one in the late 60's, it was yellow 2 door post, 327/ 4 speed car with a black interior out of a '64 Impala super sport, that car made a lasting impression on me and I can still see it vividly in my mind when I close my eyes.

How about you guys, is there a car you think, someday it might happen. HRP

I have always thought the 65 Mustang fastback was my favorite designed car. Never even came close to owning one

This "little ol lady" 57 one-fifty that parked in front of my house many years ago, she must have been visiting the LOL next door, honestly, I would see her driving it a couple times a year.
Didn't see her get in it and leave and never saw it again.

  6. I had one and loved it, it wasn't perfect but it was a lot of fun, I traded the car for a 1956 Harley, the guy still has it, the motorcycle is gone. HRP

I have always wanted 2 different cars, One is a Hemi GTX and a 40 Willys gasser. Well I'm still waiting for the Gasser. Maybe some day if I can live long enough.

  8. Yeah, a 1932 Ford 3 window coupe. I came close with my 5 window but always thought the 3 window was just perfectly styled. Never found one for sale at the right time and right price.
Most every other car I have wanted, I found a way to purchase. Then realized after I bought them that they weren't as great as I had envisioned so I sent them down the road with someone else. But some, like my 59 Vette, I regret having to sell and wish I had found a way to keep it......maybe someday.....

I won’t have enough time to ever own any of these. 49-51 mercury, f100 through 1960, 1964-5 falcon sport roof, comet caliente, and a few off topics. Should have started sooner or sell a few that I have now.

Mine would be a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. Been close to buying a couple different ones at different times but missed both times. One the most wanted I missed by being too slow by one hour. Oh well, some day!

  12. Of the trifive Chev's I've always like the 56's the best. I've owned a 55 and two 57's but for some reason the 56 has remained elusive but ya never know what the future might bring.

  16. I've been fortunate enough to have owned pretty much all of my bucket list cars. The only ones left would be a Nomad/2 door wagon that actually ran and drove, possibly a 55 Stude Conestoga, and lastly an Iris Mist 64 GTO post.....

I don’t want a real one either, I’d just ruin it. If anyone has a stalled project.... ;)

Like many, I've been able to snag most of my "grails" over the years, within reality of course, some just long enough to say I had one. There are a few that I know are definitely out of my league, so I don't think along the lines of ever owning one. That said, I would say that a stock 1934 Ford 3 window coupe would be my most desired car. Maybe in my next life.

That's funny HRP. My Dad's first car was a 1932 coupe he paid $25.00 for.

I guess the three I have wanted to park in my garage is a 1955 Chevy with a blown six and a 4 speed number two is my Dad's 1936 Ford Cabriolet with the rumble seat and a replica of his 1937 Chevy coupe race car. Mmmmmm not letting me upload the pic of race caro_O

No, Not really, when I make/made up my mind on what I wanted or thought I needed, I made it happen. As a kid, some things my parents said to me I've always remembered, one being "There are No Excuses, Make it Happen" this was instilled in me from little on and I am Thankful for them. I have passed this onto my children with a few others thoughts of mine. I guess the only car I thought/talked about and just never got around to would be a Corvette, (guess'n I really didn't want/need one) I really like the new ones, C6 and the mid engine 2020 but now too old stiff/arthritic, they're too hard to get in/out, I don't drive my OT Camaro ragtop much because of this.
