Customs Corvair transmission question

    Ok, I came across some old chopper books, I know thus isn't a chopper board but. The article I was reading was about a trike called Cinderella cart. It was built around 1970, it used a corvair engine, trans and 3rd member. I did some research and it is said guys had to mount the trans in an inverted position to be able to utilize forward and reverse property. Has anyone ever seen this done? I mean, my idea of inverted is upside down and, how would s 2 speed powerglide get trans fluid.

    looks like the engine is installed in front of the transmission/final drive, so yeah, it would be backwards. The final drive is what would need to be inverted, but not the transmission. Wonder how he did it?

    maybe if you post pictures that show more of it, we could figure it out?

    Ok, I think after reading and putting pictures together from earlier, I think I understand. If I'm not mistaken, the third member is right off the engine, then the trans. The third member/ring and pinion is inverted, not the trans. I did not realize the configuration until I looked at pics again[​IMG]

    Too bad Don Kendall isn't still around ,he knew how !
    What about the crown kits , a v-8 was installed forward of the trans ....

    Idk, I read this, it really got my interest and I got curious. I'm the type of guy, if I got questions, I'll ask and hopefully, someone knows the answer
