I am 99% sure I spotted him across the street when I was down at the corral on Friday by some of the bikes across from where Gene Winfield was parked.
Here's what I saw on Friday (and a pic of @Mikel50 's roadster on Thursday, which was the first car I saw of the weekend right after I rolled into town). Then Friday the first car I took a pic of was @ABONES and his newly completed coupe! The 21 car had a lot of good, consistent runs all weekend. I really enjoyed watching this one go and now I want a slingshot for my car too. This car ran hard all weekend too. She may not have been the fastest but she ran and ran and ran! I saw this 101 car make some quick passes too Here's the guts of one of the two tankers that ran
Here's the rest of what I got on Friday. I was pretty keen on seeing the Hole Shot run and I did and it was FAST. This little channeled, chopped T dragster was a lot of fun to watch. I thought it was fun sitting still too. This T was fast on the beach too! SOOOOO much bootleg merch on the boardwalk!
Here are my phone shots of some of the runs on Saturday. I only got a couple that I really like. The line was at least as long as the whole dragstrip if not near twice that when we got to the beach in the morning. Thousands of people already there and more trying to get in. Once we figured out there were 3 different lines, everybody got moving pretty quick. The car show outside was worth waiting around outside the gates with though. The sun was very present despite cold temperatures. I got sunburned inside my ear. I caught the 617 car pretty early. Butch had a lot of strong runs all weekend. Here's one of the head to head tanker runs! Here's the 21 car having a fast pass
Here's the last of what I got from Sunday. I didn't take many pictures of the racing and the end of the day crept right up on us. I caught @CrazyUncleHarry on his final run here though which was tough because HE WENT VERY FAST. I caught a shot of @general gow waiting for a tow on the Hudson rail The Road Devils CC car wasn't ready in time for race day but it was on display at least. Somewhere I or my gal have shots of the Tornados CC cars going head to head Here's @CrazyUncleHarry with his winning pennant and the Hudson Powered White Triangle rail I found @Nailhead Jason 's car out on the beach once we left the pits looking great.
Man I was standing right there! We were deciding were to eat when you took that picture. 20 min later, I broke the cheap speedway rear hub!
AAAAHAHAHAH! I had a feeling that might have been the case! I was on the move too! We hit Morey's Pier for a drink and eventually got boardwalk pizza before heading over to the Starluxe and the corral for a few beers with the folks that were sticking around. Monday morning I barely saw a soul but I heard a bunch of flatheads rolling out of town before I decided to roll out of bead in search of my second helping cream chipped beef.
Man it was hard to get back to work today....I’ll try not to be in a depression! Lol I think I got the banger fever, I want a banger now... haha!!! Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Yep, m’y father use to go there for vacations!!! I really liked my trip, it was an awesome event and realized I really want to plan few trips to see hotrod events and stuff like that! Everyone I met was really kind and pleasant to talk to! People where welcoming us and we where feeling like home!! Cheer my friends! Thanks again!!
I'm in the same situation! Work is a buzzkill and my mind is wandering back to the races and particularly pondering the fact that a lot of the Bangers were outrunning the Flatheads on Saturday!
Yeah man I feel you... can’t stop watching my pics and some #trog. On insta... Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
