A6BC4FC6-2D07-44D5-B877-320F4E5B139E.jpeg Took mine out a dozen of times the last few days...riding around local back roads...changed my head gasket with one from Charlie Yapp a few weeks ago and put a new walker radiator on...since then no more running hot...I put about 50 miles on it this weekend..it’s running really good right now..stock banger with model B carb...

Sounds like a nice simple engine (simple is more reliable and easier to maintain for me!). When you get closer to gathering all the parts for your conversion and no longer needing the banger let me know. That engine would move my model t runabout along very well. I’m in western Massachusetts so not terribly far away.

Got the desoto tail lights on and a dodge caravan seat in. Feels so much better driving now. Lowered the column an inch but going to go a bit more. Elongating a late 31 column mount. 11695550-4574-4F4D-A500-A2E7A1A2461D.jpeg B7D041A9-0C16-4FE2-A075-6B88AE41A324.jpeg

  8. JT,
part of the fun is the evolution of your car, do as you wish, you are the only critic that matters.

Finally got mine back on the road this weekend. Kanab is a small town of 4500 people and there are about 300 restored model A's in town for the national MAFCA tour. I sure get a lot of hateful looks from the restoration guys. Lots of beautiful cars and trucks but the best one I've seen so far is a beautiful black 3 window 32. I guess I should take my phone with me more often.

Just got back from a 160 mile round trip to the Grand Canyon and the new engine performed great. Saw a couple more modified cars today but most are restored. Its a beautiful time of year in Southern Utah. I wish we could get a autumn HAMB cruise in southern Utah. If there was enough interest I would work on it.

The purists and touring folks look down their noses at banger guys..yet they run Mitchells and T5's,engines that put out 70 horse and up,juice brakes,f100 steering boxes, you name it.As long as you have etched wind wings and tacoma cream wheels with wide whites your in.They all face east and bow to the fine point restoration, which is a rendition of a car that never rolled out of the Rouge, its a product of judging standards based on 70 years of a clique.

Even the cats who started it wouldn't recognize it today..or most of the cars the current members drive. In my opinion, all of these shenanigans are ok..hell do what you want..just don't look down on me when you're guilty of the crimes you rail against..Klack,you should have got a high five..

Hank, drill out the model A intake to 1.25" to gain the full effect of the B carb..the bits are cheap (about 20 bucks) find a cat with a drill press and you're golden..should yield about a 5hp increase..10%

Cool, you were in Hancock! I’m in North Adams about 15 mins from there. There isn’t a whole lot of old car activity up here unfortunately. The model a club was in the area a few weeks ago.

Hank, your basically match porting the carb to the intake..speed parts are like dope brother,a little is good, alots better.. :)

Im looking for a caravan seat right now, other choices are jeep seat and mini cooper seats, heard the mini seats are very comfortable but Its hard to find them at the 'bro' price..

Just a heads up if you’re going to Hershey tomorrow..

C size Winfield downdraft intake with carb ( unfortunately the carb is updraft) $800
    - near the new construction area, not sure exactly what the area is called

    1 updraft size C and 1 downdraft size C, both rebuilt $500 a piece
-over towards where the red balloons are flying.

I think the prices were negotiable.
Sorry about the horrible location descriptions, I don’t know Hershey as well as some.
