Went back to my vantage point at the end of the course. Because the tide was coming in, the front-end loader smoothed out the beach to make new lanes closer to us spectators. The racers were told to keep the momentum going when they turned around so they wouldn't get stuck in the sand. They kicked up lots of sand, which was a crowd pleaser. Sorry about the shoes, I didn't notice them until I loaded the pictures on the PC.
Caught up to these '35 and '39 Coupes on the GSP on the trip home, so ran with them for a while. I had wanted to get more close up pictures of the race cars, but the pits were closed each time I went over there.
Continued thanks to all sharing the event...it was a good time...Great event all Hamber's involved...
Great pics. Thanks for sharing! We had an amazing time! First year we went, brought our 4 banger 31 Roadster the "Elma Flyer" to race and we're hooked! Got a whole year to improve the car and make it run better!
Thanks for sharing. Couldn't get down till Sunday, looks like a bunch of cars left by the pics. Racing is great but my favorite part is getting up close to the cars, getting ideas and talking to the owners/builders.
So this 36 really caught my eye! I met the owner last night, really nice guy. It was stored in a shed for many year. Original kustom from back in the day. Fender moulded to the body. Cancelled louvers on the hood sides, choped, flathead, 39 3 speed banjo original frame, Zephyr steering, 40 Merc dash I think! The paint is cracked cuz of the age... A real time capsule car!
