Does anyone know the Gates belt number for a 46 Ford V8 with a Edlebrock 2x2 intake. I can't seem to get a belt with the right angle and length. I have the generator/alternator mounted off the right head with an Offy bracket. Belt squeals like a angry pig.. Thanks
Are you running a wide or narrow belt? I had that set up in an earlier mock up. I had the generator mounted on the driver side. Maybe I can find the belt if I still have it and get back to you. Glynn.
Belt is lined up. I am running a narrow belt now. Not too tight. I will look into the Gates B59 belt. Thanks guys
Not sure if this pic will help since my setup is not offset, but it shows the belt # I'm using (NAPA B52).
When I want to size a belt properly a old guy showed me this trick. Take an oversized belt and cut it down to the right size going around all the pulleys. Pull it off the engine and but the 2 ends together and slide a electrical heat shrink tubing over it and heat it up - tight. Take this set up to a competent parts store and they should be able to fix you up.
