Folks Of Interest Going out to dinner she darn near went through the windshield!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Oct 4, 2019.

  1. Brenda drove the wagon to work today and I followed her in the Shop delivery van.

Since her cousin was in town visiting she wanted to take her out for diner this afternoon and since she had also worked for Brenda's grandmother back in the late 60' & 70's she had driven the wagon back in the day when they delivered flowers in it.

They had just got in the car and was half way across the parking lot when I heard screaming and noticed the car had stopped & was sitting with both doors open so I went out of the shop and ask what was the out to see what the problem was and the both said something jumped on them.

I finally found a cellar cricket on the back floorboard, I'm glad it happened in the parking lot and not in traffic.

That little bug scared the crap out of both these grown women, BTW when she finally pulled out in traffic she side stepped the clutch and lit them up!. HRP

Dang, I'm glad I was sitting here by myself and didn't have to explain to Jean why I was laughing so hard. I thought Brenda was tougher than that.

  3. Brenda will stare down big guys but let her see a spider or a cellar cricket and all bets are off. HRP

Funny this should come up. We had a spider hiding under the one piece headliner at the front drivers side windshield in our OT van. It's a damn good thing I saw it first and chased it to another location. Like your wife, mine also freaks at the littlest critters. Had I not found it and it appeared in front of her face while driving..................

Killing bugs is one of our most useful characteristics in Women's eyes, I expect.

Take it from me, that thing was bouncing from one end of the wagon to the other but when it landed on me I came unglued slamming on the brakes to get out.

Danny killed it and was laughing the whole time, I was mad by the time we left and yes I did do a burn out, it scared my cousin and that made me smile.

Those are evil little bastards, I especially respect that when you try to sneak up on one, it'll escape your shoe, jump up to your eye level, give you the finger, and STILL get away from you. When I do score a kill, I leave their bodies on the garage floor, and their cousins and brothers will come back and eat them, leaving no trace. Nasty fuckers.

Reminds me of the time we got a sparrow down through the fireplace chimney and into the house. The way the womenfolk reacted, you'd have though it instantly turned into a giant, pre-historic, man-eating pterodactyl with a 30-foot wingspan.

i am at a lose to understand why people will catch them and let them outside. there are only about 1 billion assorted critters out there. i don't think the ecology will miss a few dead ones. besides, they will turn around and bite you. they don't see you as a friend.
