Hi all. I've been beavering away on my 1941 pickup. I've been taking video footage and have just started editing some of it up and getting it posted to youtube.

Part5: Improving the seat, (rattle elimination) and realising other work will be necessary:

Part 6a: Removing the rear window to prepare for a new seal:

Part 6b: Refitting the rear window with a new seal. This was my first time doing this in about 35 years. I did this before the front glass work I did, even though that video went out quite a while ago.

Part 6c: After finding the rear window leaking, I get cocky and pop it out to apply sealant. Things didn't work out well. CAUTION. Contains some adult language. (I did edit most out).

I have more to come, It just takes a long time to edit them up into a watchable format.

Please feel free to add a comment, like or click subscribe.

    Thanks a lot.

    Mart.

Thanks Fellas. Yes my epic non-success episode has proved popular.

The next installment, which involves replacing the broken side window should be up early next week.

I laughed with you, as I have done the same thing, only the glass refused to break. I would have gone with a hammer after the second attempt. "These things come to try us." Great finish. I would have resorted to a secondary vocabulary.

As previously said, these are brilliant, in a world of high drama, fake deadline car TV shows these show us the realistic and human side of working on old cars, all done from an honest modest perspective and in a very British way finished off with a cup of tea.
I am afraid I have watched the epic failure many times today and laugh louder each time, I feel guilty at finding humour in someone else's disasters but then just go back and watch it again!
    Thanks again Mart.

That fail is enough to piss off a Monk. Sometimes you just have to backup 15 and punt...

  13. Thanks for taking the time.
I bought a pair of suction cups for glass/tile and had my gf help me out on my first glass installation..

Those suction cups are a good idea. Thinking about it, I have something similar for my camera mounts. Like I say sometimes, everything I do I'm doing it for the first time, so errors are inevitable. If I could do the jobs again, it would go better, and I could film it better too. But i9f people can learn just a little bit from my videos, it makes it worthwhile for me.
