    Yup, we are ahead of the world here in Kiwiland... :D:D 19 hours ahead of US West coast . What's more it's Spring here, trout fishing season opening day today , weather is already heating up, only a couple of months until Summer.

    Hello October. Heavy thinking but after this year it’s going 35 to early 40s flatty. As much as I kept convincing myself to keep it banger I’m just not happy with it. Even after all this mods I’m not liking the style.

  18. Hmmm..Going to a "Flathead" V8? If so, it might be "Going out of the frying pan, into the fire"! I regularly best a fellow that put a Ford 59A block in his race car. I doesn't have enough torque and it's heavier!

  19. So what are you unhappy with? I would think you would have to go with a later 40's V8 with speed equipment to outdo what you have.

    The sound and look of the flat v8 vs the banger. Mine is no slouch but I just have a love for a v8 over the banger. Banger is still cool but I'm faking the funk with it Haha

    JTI930 As was asked "what's not to like?" Maybe you should just skip over the flat head V-8 and go right to s SBC! You'd have the only one out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    @modelAsteve this car will never have a sbc in it. That’s a sin.

    @V4F settle down now.

  24. Yeah! But done right a SBC would fulfill all your need to make noise and power! (LOL!)

    I liked the sound of my 4 into 2 header much more than the single pipe. And oh boy was it loud! It just looked too modern. I'm building something that fits my pre-war vision a little better.

    What are your plans with the model a engine and trans? If it’s still fairly stock( stock bottom end and flywheel/clutch I’d be interested) the car I’m building needs a running engine and at most it will get a cam and head and dual updrafts.
