Cool. I think @MercDeuceMan has some of those electric superchargers and one that is on a car. Maybe he will chime in and tell us how it works
For real? @MercDeuceMan ? I'd love to hear about it... I'm no engineer, but I don't see how it could possibly work at all... just mathematically....
Yeah. I asked him about it and saw a pic of it on one of his cars..... I think it is intended for short blasts......
thanks for sharing, Ryan, the Mercs are just marvellous, must be nice to hold these untouched sides in your hands. i hope Marc can deliver some information about a living and working Oberhausen blower, my first thougt was, that the engines have eaten up a vacuum cleaner, but maybe they worked
I think there are a few strarter driven super chargers in the speedway museum, Flathead stuff I think?
@Ryan . I found the thread with @MercDeuceMan s hot rod with the elect blower https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/indy-show.1139718/#post-12958453
I remember a lot of those ads that said send in for a manual or catalog and would be willing to bet that they made far more money off selling the manuals or info sheets than they did the product. Back in the day when we didn't bat an eye about sticking change or a buck or two in an envelope and mailing it off.
ixnay on the electric blowers, but the Dodge grille in the custom Merc is a seldom seen trick, one I think is awesome.
I love those Mercs and even bought a set of those hubcaps for my 4dork after seeing those pics a few years ago!
