Just read the whole log, what a voyage. Although I thought for a moment I'm might get a racing buddy in H/G glad to see you are about to debut the 'Dancing Rabbit' at Knoxville in B/G. welcome and good luck.

 

A common problem in when most guys start racing. Looking forward to seeing the car out there. Not sure if I'll make another race before finals though, crazy busy with work.

 

dnegel1231. I looked long and hard at a 4 cylinder GM . I even found a midget engine with a hilborn setup. If I could have used a 2300 Ford it would have been a no brainer. There are ton's of parts for them.
Costs too much to build a competitive flathead. So we will keep plugging away with our little Ford.
I am already working on another short block as the one in there now is just a hot street motor with a good set of heads and a solid roller. It probably makes about 475 hp. Of course in a 2240 lb car ,that's pretty good.
I have a late 65 289 block that's bored .040 and will be able to take the compression and rpm's needed to turn consistent 9,000 rpm passes and not split down the middle like a late model H.O. block will.

VERDE742. I tried to answer your PM , but the way it got sent I can't reply. It's like all of the other shorty wagon's. They look like clown cars to me. A customer requested I build that shorty.
Otherwise it was so bad it should have been crushed. I only did it to save it from the crusher. Every panel was replaced except for the top of the fins.

 

LIKEWISE, the blue and white 56 was a total joke. took much work to get it acceptable.

Later he put a short NOMAD lift off top. It really looks good.

But I agree with the clown car look

 

Waiting on the last week in September for the race in Knoxville. Figured I would do a little artwork on the car. Nobody here in this area does hand lettering, only airbrushing which is not legal in the SEGA.
So I thought I would try my hand at it. Bought some one shot and some brushes. If it doesn't turn out I can get rid of it because it's going on the primer and not a new paint job. My limited ability will show up in the photos. Going to paint my rabbits today.

 

That's pretty good lettering for someone that's never done it in the past. HRP

I will use him after I paint it. No sense in paying for lettering and then sanding it off. This gives me a chance to practice as I always admired those with artistic talent.
It's like someone who can play a musical instrument when I can barely play a radio.

 

Why couldn't you use a 2300 Ford ?

 

I always wanted to be a Rock Star, I tried, just wasn't in me. Guess my ear was listening to different tune.

 

What was the first year of the 2300 ? Was it before 1967 ?

 

1974, unfortunately. Even the earlier 2 liter was introduced in 1970.

 

What about a Straight 6 Ford or GMC? That would be cool and different

 

All inline 6's are too long for this car ! It is going to stay a V-8.

Countdown to the SEGA race in Knoxville, Tn this weekend and my first actual race with the Morris Minor. Sort of excited, sort of nervous at the same time.
All of the months of hard work and preparation has come down to either it works or it don't.
At least they have Friday for testing. So if I have issues I will have time to fix whatever it is.
