It makes my day to hear everyone's getting their new TRJs. Thank you for all the support guys—you're the best! Here are a few outtakes that I figured you may like...
Got mine today, but haven't received my lifetime subscription package yet. Sent a email earlier, hope I hear back soon. Sent from my SM-G960U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Just the fact that is printed in the USA, has put a big smile on my mug. Steve and the TRJ Staff ROCK!!! Sent from my iPad using H.A.M.B.
Winner winner chicken dinner! Another awesome one from TRJ. Totally love the T bird article, and I have been reading about it since I was a kid. Great job Mr. Prieto! The 32 garage find with the blown Y block was really cool. And of course I'm really partial to 37-38 chevy coupes ... so well worth the wait
When it was printed in Honkers, it must have been sent direct to Larry, then distributed to his agents and subscribers. now of course, it seems as though it does a few laps of this globe before it gets our way, in fact it turns up at my local newsagent before it turns up at the local seller who gets it from Larry. Wonder if subscribers get it any earlier???
OOOoooooooh! That don't sound real good then. Al, I was a subscriber for a long time, but when it was printed in Honkers, the newsagents carried it before I received my subscriber copy, so I dropped it . I probably don't have enough room to hang all the posters I received back then anyway
When it was printed in HK Graffiti got their copies direct from HK, now as they are printed in the US, Larry's don't get to Graffiti till after the newsstand copies arrive here...........not a good thing when Larrys been a distributor since the beginning........I still get mine from him but its getting to be a leap of faith when theres a copy staring at me from the newsstand 4-6 weeks before the copy thru the official Oz distributors arrives........and I have told Steve Coonan about this..........reduction in service...........then of course theres the subscription I have to Collectible Automobile..........for the past year they have been sent via a "new, improved" system........via London, yep, the one where Betty Windsor lives.......now takes 3 MONTHS for a copy to come to me in sunny South Grafton from the US, via Kipperville ........and of course the newsstand copy is sitting in front of me for half that time................not happy Jan ..............andyd
Got an email the other day, said they're shipping out the lifetime subscription packages next week. Just got to sit and wait, I guess. Sent from my SM-G960U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
One of the best articles in # 82 is Joey's, on 37-38 Chevy Coupe Gassers, with pictures from Greg Sharp's collection. The shot's of the late Don Nowell's beauty, are a display of perfection !
Set down and went through mine. Great content as usual, BUT has something changed in the printing process, other than being done in the US? It seems that there is less sharpness, or "snap" in both the print and pictures. Maybe a paper stock surface finish. Just can't put my finger on it. Anybody else notice this, or do I need to clean my glasses? What say you, Steve?
Probably now printed with vegetable inks. Makes me wonder how many hotrodders are vegetarians? Nothing wrong with that, I just picture traditional hotrodding includes hamburgers.
I found myself liking the new printing better than the previous. The way the new mags are put together,It is much easier to dissect the book to align centerfolds. Not that I would ever destroy a precious magazine.(I buy two)This is not to say they are put together worse.I believe they will last better now.
You know I noticed the same thing, just figured it was just my copy. But some of the pictures do seem like they're "washed out" and, some of the paper stock was rough to the touch and others smooth. Just figured it was due to the new printer, weird. Sent from my SM-G960U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I was surprised to read that the one '37 was using the knee action front end. Now days, it seems you can't change it out fast enough.
Funny you mentioned that...I was looking through an old chevy accessory book today 1929 -1955 and it showed a front axle conversion kit for 37-38 chevys to convert from knee action to straight axle... Cost ? $ 110
Just received my copy today here in Dayton, OH. Today is my birthday so it was a great gift from RJ!!!
Hey, I finally got my lifetime subscription package! Well everything except my issue #81 that I requested.... Sent from my SM-G960U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
