I really dig this vintage photo from The Old Motor. http://theoldmotor.com/?p=150974
    '37 slant-back Ford wears '41 Buick skirts.

That customized '36 LaSalle (Buick tail lights, Caddy V8 hood sides, running board removal, etc.) is running a Marmon aluminum V-16!

These Old Fleetlines don't need much to be Bitchin' Kustoms!

Paint and stance give the impression of speed.

I love the rear window in this Fleetline!
Other than the neatly frenched headlights, car appears otherwise completely stock-bodied.
    Dig the tiny pencil-tips...

Honestly the reason it probably won mild custom being a full custom is because what they did looks so elegant and subtle. I think some of the best customs have things done that normal people, even car people, would not even notice. Did such a good job with the little things you can't tell what has been changed.

'54 passenger car headlight rims are nice alternative for the more common '56 PU rings, look great.
    Look closely...Car is a Fordor!

(Below) Simple lens change provides tunneled effect, gives truly custom appearance...

    Some Golden Oldies, from Kustomrama...

15 year-old Dave Jenkins' first car, a four-door '50 (one of my faves).
    Gennie Jimmy Jones skirts!

18 year-old Helen Manning's '50, restyled by Sam Barris. Perfect stance!

(Below) I have to include George Cerny's personal ride in the mix.
    Note the Pontiac belt-line trim.
    (Lower in back, please!)

    not chopped
    not sectioned
    not channeled

Looks like a textbook mild custom to me. :)

Complete roof swap and complete rear fender swap seems a little more than a mild custom too me.
Also the Chevy roof was chopped 2 inches so technically is a Kustom.

Right on, I couldn't tell that from the angle. A roof chop (and swap!) makes it a radical custom for sure.

That gave me the chills. Haha. Probs one of my favorite songs. I have a 53 ford and am probably going to paint it cherry red. Haha

This thread is full of cars I love. It's made me realize not all cars need drastic modifications to look great.

[IMG] calling this the best mild custom, reminds me the way the hobby is going,
    people calling '28-'29 Fords '30-31's. Magazines referring to '53 Chevy's as '54's
1940 Ford standard's called 39's . On and On. OK rant over..
