I am doing just that. Start with a 31slant windshield cowl. Now have doors and back portion of two door sedan. Have front suspension and inline six as well. Fun!

I built the '27 Ford on the left starting with just this bullet holed, Swiss cheese, field derelict....

  3. Hell yeah! The only body part of my 34 coupe jalopy racer that was usable was the top. I built a car around it and it wasn't too nice either!
I have a 57 Pontiac project going on right now. Got my first part a few years ago....an NOS tailight lens. 34top1.jpg

A friend gave me a hood for a '65 GTO. It took about 18 months, but a complete car came together around that hood. This was back in 1979-80, when parts were much, much easier to find.

Nope! But I did find a nice dropped tube axle for $10 that is in the process of becoming a "Tub".

Not me but I once sold a guy a pair of 57 Cadillac wheel covers at a swap meet. He told me that was the start of his custom shoebox Ford. The next year at the same swap meet he drove up in a sweet 51 Vicky HT nice paint , skirts, nosed, decked, sitting nice and low with WWW and the Caddy caps. Been friends ever since:)

Copy of DSCF3705.jpg In 2008 I bought an Offenhauser twin 4 barrel SBC manifold because it was cheap. A year later I finished up with a 1929 Chevy hotrod.

It took hours of pleading at the Cow Town swap meet for me to pry this lens off a guy there. Me buddy, EJ Kowalski built the rest of the car forward of the lens from there.

We started with some sketches, and a pile of 1/34 DOM tubing to build our lakester. Only took 17 years to hit the track.

  16. Yep. Got a '62 Plymouth Fury headlight door, couple '63 Galaxie tail lights, couple of basket case Ford FE engines and built this.

  19. Danny,

I like the 327,,,,valve covers ,and all.
I especially like the high fan and alternator mount!
That is how you had enough room to get it all in there.
    Coool!,,

  20. Yes sir, the zips risers move the water pump up to the center of the radiator, that way I can run a 17" steel blade fan and the engine cools perfectly. HRP

Bought these 15x4 Ansens at the 2016 Meltdown Drags. I had an itch to build a gasser since I attended the 2014 Meltdowns and finding these wheels was the final push I needed. The name also came to me in an epiphany that weekend.

Late February 2017 I pulled this out of a field (about 12 more parts)

  22. Total opposite, but in high School I drove a 66 Galaxie 2 door hardtop. I bought it from the original owners son (this would have been 97-98). The headlight doors are chromed pot metal, and the pass side on mine hit something and was dented/cracked. At a yard sale a week or so later, guy had a pass side 66 galaxie headlight door in nice used shape. Only galaxie part he had. What are the odds.

Same sale had a set of Ford pattern American Racing "coke bottles" that I wanted to put on the car. They were kind of rusty and gross but for a 16 year old the price was right. Took em to a tire shop to have new ties put on and installed on the car...tire kid ruined two rims. They ended up buying me a new set.

Driving my F100 thru Modesto, lost...Turned down a street and spotted a chrome front F100 bumper, garage sale.
Young guy said it was 'left over' from a project his Dad sold...said he needed the $30 for some medicine for his little girl.
I have 2 'little girls', (both married now) but I said, "Sorry, Bud..I only have twenties. You'll have to take 'em both."
    "I only wanted $30,"
"Sorry. all I got is $40..."
He then said, "O.K., but there's something I want you to have."
Reached in a toolbox drawer, and pulled out a New Old Stock door latch assembly, drivers door. How'd he know I needed that?
We were both 'pleased as punch'. And he gave me directions back to the freeway!

I bought a complete running 3.9L flathead 27 years ago... Then 10 years ago I bought 3 1932 Studebaker President wheels from Bobby Green just because I love those wheels, then a couple years later in exchange of some bodywork I got a pair of ASC rails which I didn't need, then a dropped I beam with spring and banjo rear in exchange for some more work, then a model A front and rear cross member with spring, then out of shear luck I traded an old friend I lost sight of for 20 years a 36 3w coupe roof and trunk for 1/2 of a Euro 32 2dr sedan, then found the 4th wheel on ebay, a 331 long bell hemi in exchange for bodywork on a Nascar truck, a T5 and front juice brake on the Hamb. 2 years ago I got a set of Jaguar XK140 roadster stanchions for really cheap and a 4.2L flathead crank, earlier this year a cheap, rough but salvageable firewall. I'm gonna have a phantom Euro 32 RPU with a hemi or a flathead and Duvall someday...

  26. Mark, is that a original license plate or did you make that? HRP

A friend gave me the 9 inch rear out of his blown Stude Starlight coupe after a garage fire reduced it a melted pile of aluminum and fiberglass.
    Ended up with this. DSCF3557.JPG
