To think I thought five years ago it looked just fine in primer.

It was pretty crowded and the traffic control was not good or sufficient, especially Saturday. I didn't see 1/4 of the cars. Still, I had a good time . I went through about 1/2 of the swap meet; there was some good stuff and a lot of projects. Prices seemed a little high to me. I did a LOT of walking but the new part venders were in good air conditioning. I took a few pix of some of the awards winners. There were too many people to get them all. The other roadster had a Y block in it, but my favorite was the truck.

I used double sided tape 1" wide on the fenders and trimed/cut out holes with an art work scalpel.punched 3/8 holes at regular intervals and cut out wedge shapes into the hole to allow the fender welt to bend to the curvature of the fenders .I was very pleased with the result .had a buddy help me with it.

I guess it's time to close out the thread. I have some detailing to do, but otherwise I think I'm done with the build. I finally put the hood on the night before going to the Nats North in Kalamazoo. I took some pix Sunday.

Thank you , I'm doing just that.
Thanks. this has been a long summer but it's starting to pay off.

    Very kind, thanks.

Well, it's not as good as I hoped , but it's great to be driving it.

Thanks Sam. I have to work out some storage problems before I can get serious about the truck.

I also enjoyed doing the thread. Thanks.

Thanks, Mart. I'll be using info from some of your posts on my 41 pickup.

    Thank you for following along.

Looks really nice. Just enough of this, the right amount of that. And not too much of anything.
    Good Going!

I appreciate your comments. I’m working on a couple of things to add reliability.....an air dam above the grill and maybe a fan shroud.

Man , you did a great job on the 40. Stupid me had one about 3 weeks away from paint and sold it about 9 years ago. The guy I sold it to just has it sitting in old barn , done nothing but let the brand new coker wide whites dry rot and the sbc engine has not been touched or even turned over from what I understand . Tried to buy it back but no luck.

Thanks ,Darin. I've only sold 1 project, but I realized that I was never going to get to it at my current age..........Then I bought the '41 pickup.:)

  25. Hey Joel, I noticed your 2 build threads as part of your signature. I just read through this thread from the first to the last post.

Great read! Fantastic job! Good work!

I'll save your truck build for another day or I might never get into the shop.;)

Hi Great build! Would it be possible to send some measurements of your chassis height off the ground? Front end horns and back end after the fuel tank. Plus any pics of the engine in place. Just setting mine up and having a guide would be fantastic.
