it was a good show, yes not what it once was, but plenty to see on Saturday.
over 1800 cars, swap meet was 300 plus sellers.
The new parts vendors just don't show up anymore, so don't go thinking you'll get to talk with a rep from a company.

    Great photos posted above.

I've been swapping at Nats North since 92 and being an NSRA member has never been a requirement for being a swap meet vendor. Also it's been pointed out that unlike the swaps your mentioning Nats North is larger that the small ones and it's 3 days plus set up day if you come in on Thurs. instead of one day only. As far as admission fee was anyone twisting your arm and forcing you to go? If not than if you thought it was too much you could have said "to hell with it" and turned around and left

I've been going to the Nat's North for many years. My first was at the fairgrounds in Detroit before moving to Kazoo. The swap is still great. But the rest is lacking. It's pretty much the same schedule as 20 years ago. But less of everything. It's stale. I know there were a couple of seminars, and kids games, but think there needs to be more. Cackle cars, RC cars, gravity drags, autocross, etc. Maybe it just me, but it is getting harder to justify the cost of staying 2 nights. Still, a blah day at a car show is better than a good day at work.

Rich Martin brought Dave Cranes old bantam drag car. It was great to see it in near ready race form again. I am sure Daves smiling down on it. 20190913_111617.jpg 20190913_111547.jpg 20190913_151134.jpg

gary thanks for posting those pics of daves bantam! i know some on here are complaining about the kalamazoo show, its hurting for attendance, and yes it could use a new look and feel, ive been going for about the last 25 years, i have been showing daves bantam all year starting in feb. at cobo, been to local shows, nhra nationals, and a bunch more, i have had every kid thats within 20 feet of the car, sitting in it! its been alot of fun for me, and im trying my hardest to spark an interest in these kids! somebody has to! thes kids are the future. i dont give a dam if they get finger prints, dirt, what ever on it. it will come off. i try to get them in my car any time anywhere i can. would sure like to see some others do it! get these kids involved. take a part in helping the cause! grab a kid and get them in your car! ya never know what you mite start, and make a kids day at the same time. i know a kid that got a spark about 55 years ago over sitting in a 32 ford sedan, that dam kid has a building full of old cars now!

Thanks for posting a variety of great shots of great automobiles and trucks, and I did notice a few that had opted for the single fog light on the drivers side, I love that look. I have this older Ford grille center piece with a single Unity blue lens on it as a wall hanging in my office, both bought at swap meets. I named it " One Eyed Jack ".

Saw this Lincoln at the show Saturday then it popped up on my Facebook this morning for sale. The ad says it has a 500 caddy in it IMG_20190914_115303135.jpeg IMG_20190914_115241887_HDR.jpeg

I always thought that these particular Lincolns were very cool, love the shape and body lines, I saw one on a trailer for sale at the Portland swap meet a few years back. The Lincoln Zephyrs to me were the ultimate in art Deco design, but this model of Lincoln is very cool as well. Incredible grille and bumpers front and rear.

gary thanks again for posting daves car and pics! I miss the get togethers with dave. he was one of a kind! getting bantam ready for a trip to speedway museum shortly, then on to California to the roadster show in Pomona California. we were invited to bring it out for a Midwest drag racing display at the roadster show, so were doing it! thanks to a bunch of friends! I think david would be proud of what he started!

Thanks for the second round of pics.I love all the 35,36,37,38 and 40's. I was there on Sat and as a owner of 1 myself I saw only 1 39 pick up this year at the show and loved it.
